Ryan- I was blown away by your performance with the San Juan Symphony today in Farmington. I try to play trumpet and your playing inspired me to keep trying. I really got some great pointers during the master class; especially what you said about breathing. I had never thought of breating in the way you presented. It has already helped my playing. I am looking forward to hearing you in July at your "Music in the Mountains" performance.

I attended the Beard/Anthony concert yesterday, April 15, 2007 at the Hyde Park Community United Methodist Church in Cincinnati. Outstanding! I play trumpet in a local church brass choir and community band. Your playing and hilarious discussion about the Carnival of Venice really brought back memories (I have to dig out my very old Arban's book and practice that again). I look forward to listening to your CD's and following your career. I hope to hear you again in person when you are back in this part of the country.

Ryan-

Just wanted to tell you again what a fantastic concert you and Gary Beard put on today in Lake Forest, IL. I talked to you briefly with my wife after the concert. (My wife is the flutist and I play trumpet). We have heard you play with the Canadian Brass several years ago at Ravinia and at other local venues. We're looking forward to seeing and hearing you play again on our area.

Let me know when you plan on being in the area again. I can email all of my brass contacts and get more people out.

Thanks!

Dear Ryan and Gary,

Thank you, thank you! I was thoroughly entranced by your wonderful concert last weekend (1-21-07) in St. Charles, MO. I have to say it was one of the best concerts I have attended in my 64 years. You are very gifted musicians and your joy of playing the music came through loud and clear and BTW, your both charming gentlemen. I'm just glad to have the CD's. My very best wished.

Hi Ryan, you probably won't remember me but I sure remember you. I played 1st chair at MMHS in 76 & 78. I grew up on the street behind the school (Folkstone St). I remember visiting my folk's years after graduating & my Mom seemed to keep up on the gossip on what was happening with the band. She told me of some incredible trumpet player. I never got to meet you or hear you play. About 5-6 years ago I was playing in a band for the Assembly of God convention in Orlando, Fl and I heard some incredible trumpet player warming up behind a curtain. I had to find out who this was. It was there that I got to meet you and once I asked where you were from I knew immediately you were the guy I heard so much about at Mount Miguel H.S. I play for the Imperial Symphony Orchestra, The Lakeland Jazz Band and 3 services every Sunday at Victory Church here in Lakeland, FL.
Hope you tour this way soon. You really impacted my life and every time I think I'm getting good at playing trumpet I just listen to you play and realize I'm going to need another 100 years of practice!
God Bless,
Mark Huntington

Ryan, your style and technique are inspirational. As a "part-time" player doing mostly fill ins as needed and wedding work, I truly admire what you have accomplished. As a big fan of the Canadian Brass since about 1983 I followed the group through most of their maturations, including your stint(s). I am about to embark on a new purchase of a piccolo trumpet and have the Yamaha YTR-9830 high on my list. Is it still among your favorites? Can you send a list of your feature CDs? I lost my home in Hurricane Katrina, and all of my music collection and am slowly rebuilding it. I would love to add some of your stuff to my collection. Thanks for taking time to read my comments. Sam
